Owls Roll to 90-43 Win in Exhibition Against Barry

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's basketball will now set its eyes on the 2023-24 season opener after earning a 90-43 exhibition win against the Barry University Buccaneers on Wednesday inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.
Florida Atlantic continued their momentum into the second, outscoring Barry 5-0 through the second-quarter media timeout to extend the Owls' lead to 30, 37-7. The Owls nearly matched the Buccaneers over the final five minutes of the first half as they would take a 46-18 lead into the half.
Out of the break, the Owls doubled up the Buccaneers on an 8-4 run to lead 54-22 at the third-quarter media timeout. The Owls held the Buccaneers scoreless over the following three minutes of clock, pushing the lead to 61-22 with 1:56 to play in the third. The Owls closed the quarter on a 6-4 run to push their advantage to 41, 67-26, with 10 minutes to play.
Florida Atlantic maintained a 42-point lead, 73-31, after battling the Buccaneers 6-5 over the opening two minutes of the fourth. The Owls then scored 11 unanswered points through the 3:12-minute mark to extend the lead to 84-31. The Owls rode their advantage over the final three minutes of play, eventually closing out the 90-43 win.
