BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's tennis ran into more than one opponent over the weekend. The first was weather that forced delays and cancelations and the second was a powerful No. 4 Texas A&M team that downed FAU 4-0, late Sunday night, in the 2023 ITA Kickoff Weekend, hosted by Texas A&M.
FAU conceded the doubles point to the Aggies and then fell to three individually ranked opponents. FAU's Martina Kudelova faced the nation's ninth ranked player, Amber McGinnis' opponent was ranked No. 51 and Millie-Mae Matthews fell to a player ranked No. 105.
FAU was scheduled to play the loser of the Arizona and Florida match, but that was canceled. The Texas A&M match was the second in as many matches that FAU has faced a team ranked No. 11 or better nationally.
