BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team, who received its highest ranking in school history of No. 21 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, will host Middle Tennessee on Thursday riding an 18-game winning streak. FAU is looking to remain unbeaten in Conference USA play, with a 9-0 C-USA mark, which places the Owls in first place by a full three games in the loss column in the C-USA standings. The Owls are additionally ranked as No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches poll.
Thursday night's game is a red out, with FAU encouraging Owl nation to wear red and be loud.
- FAU is tied for second in the nation in winning percentage (.950, tied with Purdue) and is one of only three teams left in the nation with just one loss (Purdue & Charleston being the others)
- The Owls are riding the nation's second-longest winning streak of 18 games, with the only loss of the season coming at Ole Miss on Nov. 10. The 18-game winning streak has shattered the previous school record of 10
- The Owls' 18-game winning streak is also tied for fourth-longest in Conference USA history, and is the longest such streak in C-USA play since Memphis' 18-gamer in 2012-13. Memphis holds the conference record at 26 games in 2007-08
- FAU is also an undefeated 11-0 at home this season, and 55-14 at home dating back to the start of the Dusty May era (2018-19)
- The Owls return home after a long three-game road trip last week, where FAU went 3-0 with wins against WKU (76-62), UTSA (83-64) and UTEP (67-59). The Owls even played five games in 11 days, starting with a win at FIU (77-73, Jan. 11) and a victory over North Texas (66-62, Jan. 14)
- Johnell Davis has been a consistent producer for the Owls, scoring in double figures in each of the last seven games. Davis leads FAU in conference-only points per game (16.6 ppg.) and has led FAU in scoring in five out of the last seven C-USA games
- The Owls lead the nation in bench points, scoring 37.7 per game
- FAU is ranked 13th in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (28.4) and 17th in rebounding margin (+6.9)
- The Owls rank 17th in the nation in made 3-pointers per game (9.7) which also leads C-USA
