MEMPHIS, Tenn. – On Thursday night, the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team was defeated by Memphis by a final tally of 3-0. FAU dips to 2-3-2 on the year, while Memphis improves to 4-3.

The Owls had an opportunity to take a lead in the first half after
Bri Austin was fouled by the Memphis keeper inside of the box, setting up a penalty kick.
Emmy Schleifer's penalty kick was denied by the Tigers' goalkeeper to keep the match scoreless in the 21st minute.

The match went into halftime scoreless. In the second half, the Tigers got a goal one minute in off of a corner kick. FAU had a chance for an equalizer in the 64th minute.
Sofia Voldby's header sailed just high over the crossbar. Memphis tallied its second goal three minutes later in the 67th minute.

- Memphis held a 14-10 lead in shots
- Corner kicks were even at 6-6
- Lexi Gonzalez tallied four saves in net for the Owls
- Gi Krstec, Voldby, Austin and Schleifer paced the FAU attack with two shots each
- Playing the full 90 in addition to Gonzalez was FAU senior defender Amanda Martin

FAU will continue its road trip and travel north to face UT Martin on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
