Owls announce 2022-23 schedule

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's basketball has announced its 2022-23 schedule on Tuesday morning.
"I'm really looking forward to the 2022-23 schedule," expressed head coach Jennifer Sullivan. "Our season gets started on Nov. 10 at Bethune-Cookman, which is the Wildcats' kid's game, and should be a really exciting atmosphere to begin the season. We are playing several strong teams, including our Power-5 matchups against Miami and Illinois, which should definitely prepare us well for C-USA play."
The Owls' 2022-23 slate features 16 home games, including hosting the 2022 FAU Thanksgiving Tournament, matchups against a pair of 2022 NCAA Tournament teams, three 2022 Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) teams, including a WNIT Semifinalist, non-conference road Power-5 matchups against ACC and Big Ten foes Miami and Illinois, and 19 Conference USA contests.
The season gets warmed up with an exhibition contest on Nov. 1, as the Owls host St. Thomas University, offering Owl fans a first look at the 2022-23 squad.
Regular-season action begins on Nov. 10 as the Owls head to Daytona Beach to take on Bethune-Cookman. FAU will remain on the road the Owls travel I-95 South to take on ACC foe Miami, who advanced to the 2022 NCAA Tournament second round, for a midweek matchup on Nov. 16.
The Owls open up their 2022-23 home slate with a six-game homestand beginning Nov. 21 against Palm Beach Atlantic. FAU then hosts its annual FAU Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 25 & 26, welcoming Binghamton (Nov. 25) and Sacred Heart (Nov. 26) to FAU Arena for the holiday weekend. The Owls continue their homestand hosting Kennesaw State (Dec. 2), Florida National University (Dec. 6), and will conclude their homestand on Dec. 13 as they host rival FIU for their C-USA opener.
FAU will then hit the road for the second road trip of the year, as the Owls head to the Land of Lincoln for a pair of road contests at Chicago State (Dec. 19) and at Big Ten power Illinois (Dec. 21).
After the Christmas break, the Owls will conclude the 2022 calendar year, hosting the North Texas Mean Green on Dec. 29.
FAU will open its C-USA road slate with a four-game road swing to begin the new year beginning at UAB (Jan. 5), at Charlotte (Jan. 7), at FIU (Jan. 11), and finishing at North Texas (Jan. 14).
The Owls return to the Sunshine State to host WKU (Jan. 16), UTSA (Jan. 19), and UTEP (Jan. 21), before closing out January on the road heading to Middle Tennessee (Jan. 26) and the Bluegrass State to face WKU (Jan. 28).
FAU will open the month of February inside FAU Arena, as the Owls welcome UAB (Feb. 2) and Charlotte (Feb 4). The Owls then head to the Lone Star and Bayou States to take on Rice (Feb. 9) and LA Tech (Feb. 11), before returning home to host Middle Tennessee (Feb. 16).
The final road trip of the regular season will see the Owls head to the Lone Star State yet again as the Owls visit UTSA (Feb. 23) and UTEP (Feb. 25), before closing out the regular season at home as the Owls welcome Rice (March 2) and LA Tech (March 4) for senior day.
