BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University volleyball concluded play in the FAU Invitational on Saturday, falling 3-0 against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks.
The Owls took advantage early, capitalizing on a pair of Mountain Hawk attack errors to take the 2-1 lead, however it was short lived as Lehigh produced a 6-0 run to take its first lead of the contest, 8-2. The Owls battled but couldn't close the gap back as the Mountain Hawks would eventually take the opening set, 25-11.
The second set was a constant back-and-forth battle. FAU battled Lehigh through four ties through the early parts of the set, but the Mountain Hawks broke away from the 4-4 stalemate to take a 6-4 lead. The Owls kept clawing back to eventually bring the set back even at 12 off a
Katelynn Robine kill.
Valeria Rosado followed up with a kill of her own to give the Owls their first lead at 13-12 since the opening moments of the second to spark at Lehigh timeout. However, the Mountain Hawks answered and outscored the Owls 13-7 through the end of the set to eventually take the 25-20 win and hold the 2-0 advantage.
The Owls really showed their fight in the final set of the day. FAU opened the set on a 7-4 run to take the early lead. The Mountain Hawks closed the match back within one off an FAU service error and a service ace, however a kill from Rosado sparked a 9-2 FAU run to give the Owls their largest lead of the day, 16-8. The Owls continued to pressure the Mountain Hawks holding a late 23-18 lead, however Lehigh responded to outscore FAU 8-1 over the final points of the third set to eventually capture the 26-24 win in the final set.

- Katelynn Robine led the Owls offensively for the second time this season, recording a match-leading 13 kills, while also adding eight digs.
- Valeria Rosado was one dig shy of posting her second double-double of the season as she recorded a team second-best 11 kills while laying out for nine digs against the Mountain Hawks
- Noelle Stephens led the Owls in assists and digs, recording 26 assists and 10 digs in the tournament finale.
