BOCA RATON, Fla. – Carla Galmiche has signed with the Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team, announced
Ricardo Gonzalez, FAU's Director of Tennis, on Thursday. Galmiche will join FAU, a team that ended 2002 strong, this fall.
The addition of Galmiche to the Owls shores up a team that will begin practice in August as one of the most experienced squads in the program's history. The 2022 Owls were comprised of just two upperclassmen and five freshman, all of whom saw significant court time.
Galmiche holds a French classification of 4/6. She has won 11 ITF junior tournaments, two in singles play, but more importantly to college head-to-head competition she has been apart of nine doubles titles.
Galmiche also is familiar to the team mindset as a former member of the U14 French National team which captured third place in the European Championships.
The team she will join upon coming to FAU is one that features two returning Conference USA first team selections in
Lexi Silna and doubles pairing
Martina Kudelova and
Katerina Filip. Silna earned C-USA All-Freshman honors after leading five freshman a year ago as the group gained court time in more than 100 matches and combined for a 40-39 dual-match record.
Galmiche will join local standout Maya Shanok (announcement

Ricardo Gonzalez, FAU's Director of Tennis
"We are excited to bring Carla on board. She has a lot of potential in her game which is always exciting. I have no doubt her game will develop rapidly with our program. She plays a very aggressive game style and has a lot of weapons."
The Owls have completed the fall semester and will turn their focus towards summer competitions and training.
