MONTGOMERY CITY, Texas – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team won the team title and junior Alex Maguire won the individual title at the Bayou City Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon. The team victory is the Owls' first under Head Coach Mark Leon and first in a full-field event since 2015.
"These guys have been working so hard all spring, and it's been amazing to watch them grow as a group. Their development has been nothing short of impressive, and I'm thrilled they were able to get a win in our regular season finale."
Leon on the play of Maguire
"I'm also so proud of Alex for getting his first college win. Alex has been playing some of the best golf I've ever seen at home, and he's been frustrated that it hasn't shown up on the road. He stayed the course and trusted himself. It couldn't happen to a more deserving athlete."
