Owls Set to Welcome South Alabama to Town

BOCA RATON, Fla. – On Wednesday evening, the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team will square off against South Alabama. The Owls are looking to extend their winning streak to five games and match the program's best start since the 2018-19 season, which was the first under head coach Dusty May.
FAU has shot a higher field goal percentage than its opponent in all five wins this season. The Owls have also recorded more assists than their opponents in all six games this year and have made more 3-pointers than the competition in every game. The long ball has also been a key to success, as the Owls are averaging 9.3 trifectas a game to rank 47th in the nation.
Owl center Vladislav Goldin is in the nation's top 10 in field goal percentage. The sophomore from Russia is shooting at a blistering 73.2% (30-of-41) from the field this season to rank ninth in NCAA Division I and lead C-USA. Goldin is averaging 11 points and 5.2 boards per game.
Last time out against Albany, FAU guard Nick Boyd paced the Owl attack in his return to his home state with 16 points, which was one off of his career-high. Boyd was aggressive and attacked the rim, going a perfect 7-for-7 inside of the 3-point line on the afternoon. After redshirting last season due to injury, Boyd is averaging 6.8 points and 3.2 boards per game in five contests.
Owl forward Giancarlo Rosado delivered a crucial lift on the glass last time out. Rosado recorded a team-high seven boards in limited action (12 minutes). Rosado is second in rebounding for FAU (5.3 rpg.) despite averaging only 16 minutes per game
