BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's swim & dive teams will travel out of state for the first time this season to compete in the Patriot Invitational, beginning on Thursday. The three-day meet will be hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. The Owls are looking to improve upon their record setting performances from 2021, in which the men finished in first place out of six teams and the women's side placed in second out of seven.
Men
- For the first time in FAU history, the men's side was the winner of the entire Patriot Invitational, finishing with 924 points
- Rateb Hussein set an FAU record in the 200 fly (1:45.01). He also won the 50 free (20.01)
- Alec Peckmann broke the school record in the 100 IM (49.22). He was also the winner of both the 100 free (44.48) and 200 free (1:37.75)
- Timo Paisley earned third place in the 500 free
- The 400 free relay team (Maximiliano Ahumada, Hussein, Jackson Kirk, Peckmann) broke both the meet and school record with a time of 2:58.57
Women
- The women finished in second place with a score of 709
- In the 3-meter dive, Alicia Mora took first place with 289.25 points. Selina Staudenherz followed right behind her in second place with 256.75 points. Mora also won the 1-meter dive with 275.25 points
- Maggie Casey was the winner of the 500 free (4:54.25)
- Dolores Margni earned the freshman record in the 100 fly (55.07)
- Riley Trout set the freshman record in the 200 back (1:58.94)
Men
- The men's side is coming off a victory against Nova Southeastern headlined by Dalton Lillibridge with wins in the 100 breast (56.11) and 200 breast (2:02.75). For his performance, he earned his second CCSA Swimmer of the Week award of the season
- Rateb Hussein touched the wall first to win the 100 fly (49.66)
- Alec Peckmann earned the win in the 100 back (50.36)
- Timo Paisley placed second place in the 200 free (1:40.83) as well as the 500 free (4:35.72)
- Logan Thornsberry placed in second in the 1000 free (9:45.49)
- Christoffer Weiss finished in second place in the 200 fly (1:55.02)
- David Arneskov tallied second place in the 200 back (1:52.31)
Women
- Amelia Robertson tallied a second place finish in the 200 back (2:04.49) and placed third in the 100 back (57.98)
- Dolores Margni finished in third place in the 200 fly (2:09.15)
- Maggie Casey earned a third-place finish in the 500 free (5:14.11)
- Grace Molinaro swam to third place in the 100 fly (57.94)
