MIAMI, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer has one opportunity left to secure its place in the American Athletic Conference Tournament. The Owls will need to come away with at least one point on Wednesday night when they take on Florida International in Miami.

ABOUT THE OWLS
- The Owls are coming off an upset victory over No. 12 SMU on Friday night
- The result dramatically shifted the landscape in the AAC table dropping SMU from first to fourth place and moving the Owls from seventh place (outside the playoff picture) to sixth (last team in)
- Sebastian Zettl notched his first career goal to put FAU ahead 1-0 in the first half
- SMU tied it late in the period and the match remained deadlocked until Andreas Raisanen scored his third goal of the season in the 81'
- Neil Strauber finished with six saves and was named AAC Goalkeeper of the Week
- Raisanen earned Rooke of the Week honors while Zettl and fullback Tom Abrahamsson were each named to the weekly honor roll
ABOUT THE PANTHERS
- FIU is 10-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the AAC
- The Panthers sit atop the AAC table with 16 points
- They've won three straight since a 3-1 loss to UCF on October 9
- The Panthers score plenty of goals but they also go through stretches where they concede in bunches – a 6-4 loss to SMU on September 23 and a 3-3 draw with USF on October 16 being prime examples
- Senior forward Stephen Afrifa's nine goals lead the team
WHAT'S ON THE LINE
- If the Owls get a win or draw, they will clinch a spot in the AAC postseason tournament
- Elsewhere, UCF faces USF and Charlotte faces Temple – both UCF and CLT need to win and hope the Owls lose to FIU
- Fifth-place Memphis faces UAB – FAU can only move up in the table with a win and a Memphis loss
- The Owls cannot climb higher than fifth in the table ensuring they will be on the road in the AAC Quarterfinals
