The Owls' home slate includes 15 regular-season contests and one exhibition game. FAU's preseason test against St. Thomas is slated for Nov. 1, before the Owls will return home after a season-opening two-game road trip for their home-opener against the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish on Nov. 21. The non-conference home slate also includes the Owls' 2022 Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 25 & 26 against Binghamton and Sacred Heart, as well as Kennesaw State on Dec. 2 and Florida National on Dec. 6. The Owls will also play a 20-game conference schedule, which includes nine C-USA contests inside FAU Arena for the 2022-23 season.
Head coach
Jennifer Sullivan enters her second season leading the Owls in 2022-23. FAU returns eight players, including all but one starter from a year ago, while adding seven newcomers to bolster a strong 2022-23 squad.
Alexa Zaph and
Janeta Rozentale are the Owls' leading offensive returners. Last season, Zaph finished with a team second-best 306 points, averaging 10.9 per contest, while Rozentale led the Owls in points per game, posting 11.5 per contest and recording 254 total points during the 2021-22 season. Defensively, the Owls are paced by
Sofia Galeron, who posted a team-best 204 rebounds, and
Amber Gaston, who led the team in blocks with 24 denials a season ago. The Owls' combination of returning veteran experience and a myriad of talented newcomers looks to be a winning combination as the Owls look to make waves in C-USA in 2022-23.
