Beach Volleyball Unveils 2022 Schedule

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team has released the 2022 schedule, as announced by head coach Capri Grotowski on Tuesday. Five of the Owls' opponents were eight of the teams who received a bid to the 2021 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship, including the National Champion in USC and Runner-Up in UCLA.

The Sandy Owls will play the red vs. blue match on Saturday, Jan. 29 before getting official competition underway. Later in the season, the team will hold an intra-squad scrimmage i on Saturday, April 23.

FAU will open at Florida State for the FSU Beach Bash from Feb. 26-27. The Sandy Owls are set to play the Seminoles, Cal Poly, TCU and North Florida.

The following weekend, FAU hosts its home opener, the FAU Beach Bash, on Friday, March 4 to Saturday, March 5. FAU will play host to Florida Gulf Coast, Palm Beach Atlantic, Austin Peay and UNCW.

BVB Schedule

FAU will be then back on the road for almost a month, next hitting the road to DeLand, Florida for Stetson's Sun-N-Sand Invite, in which FAU will face the Hatters and USC on Saturday, March 12. The next weekend, FAU has a big one ahead at the March to May hosted by UAB from March 18 to 20. FAU is playing the tournament host in UAB, as well as LSU, UCLA, South Carolina and Tulane.

The Sandy Owls will return back to Stetson for the Stetson Beach Bash to play Georgia State, Coastal Carolina and FIU from March 26-27. The following week, the team will be hosted by UNF to play the Ospreys, Pepperdine and Florida State on April 1-2.

FAU will host its final tournament of the season, the Paradise Classic, on April 8-9, receiving visits from Florida Gulf Coast, Palm Beach Atlantic and Saint Leo. The Sandy Owls will then wrap up the regular season at FIU on April 15.

Conference USA will work in conjunction with the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association to host the 2022 C-USA Beach Volleyball Championship from April 28-30 in Huntsville, Alabama at the John Hunt Sand Volleyball Complex. The NCAA Championships are set for the following weekend, May 6-8 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
