BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (4-12, 0-5 in Conference USA) is set to face Marshall (10-5, 5-1 in C-USA) for the second time within two weeks tomorrow at 1 p.m. The game at the Cam Henderson Center will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
	- Jennifer Sullivan is in her first season at the helm of the FAU women's basketball program. She is a 16-year coaching veteran and the sixth head coach in program history
- The Owls are searching for their first win since Dec. 7, as the team is o a seven-game losing streak
- FAU brings back eight student-athletes from the 2020-21 team, all of whom have seen time on a college court
- Amber Gaston leads the Owls with 13.1 points per game and a .525 field goal percentage
- Janeta Rozentale has a team's most 8.0 rebounds per game
- Kynadi Kuykendoll leads the way with 3.2  assists per game (51 total)
- FAU has four Owls averaging double digits in scoring (Gaston, Alexa Zaph, Rozentale and Rita Pleskevich)
- The Owls stand second in free throw percentage (.756), third in defensive rebounds/gm (27.0) and fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (.309) in C-USA
 
	- FAU fell to WKU, 73-49
- The Owls led 18-16 after the first quarter, but were outscored by the Lady Toppers 57-31 in the remaining three quarters
- Galeron led the Owls with nine points and seven boards
- The Owls' bench logged 21 points, led by Simona Henshaw who had eight points across a career-high 23 minutes played
- Kuykendoll registered five dimes
 
	- Marshall was projected to finish ninth in C-USA, one spot ahead of the Owls, in the C-USA Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches
- Savannah Wheeler was one of eight selected to the C-USA Preseason Team. She leads the team and league with 20.1 points per game, recently surpassing 1,000 career points
- Lorelei Roper leads the Thundering Herd in rebounds, averaging 7.3 boards per game along with a team-high 17 blocks
- Aaliyah Dunham has notched up 63 assists compared to just 24 turnovers.  She averages 4.2 dimes per game and has a team's most 32 steals
- Marshall leads the league in assist/turnover ratio (1.00)
 
	- The series between these two teams has been very even with both sides splitting the all-time series, 6-6
- FAU is 4-2 at home, 2-3 on the road and 0-1 at a neutral site versus the Thundering Herd
- The series dates back to 2014, the Owls' first year in Conference USA. Ever since their first meeting in 2014, apart from last season with the game cancellations due to COVID-19, both teams have faced each other every year since
- The first meeting on Feb. 26, 2014 resulted in an 87-68 win for FAU
- Both teams faced off against one another just a few weeks ago in Boca Raton. FAU went into the fourth quarter with a three-point lead, 38-35, but a 31-point fourth quarter by the Thundering Herd elevated Marshall past the Owls in a 66-51 defeat for FAU. Galeron led the Owls with 10 points and 10 boards, while Gaston followed with 10 points and six boards
 
 
	- Sullivan will earn her first C-USA win as a head coach
- The Owls will snap a seven-game losing streak
- FAU will split with Marshall in their meetings this season
- The Owls will hand the Herd just their second C-USA loss of the season
