BOCA RATON, Fla. – First-year head coach
Mark Leon and the Florida Atlantic University men's golf team jets west for the Owls' first event of 2021-22: Friday and Saturday's William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
Leon's squad features five returnees – including two former All-Conference honorees in
Max Sturdza and
Alex Maguire – and adds four newcomers to the ledger. The 2020-21 Owls posted the program's highest ever national rankings (No. 77 by Golfstat and No. 74 by Golfweek), and finished seventh at the Conference USA Championship.
This weekend's event will be held on the Championship Course at UNM, with 36 holes Friday and a final round of 18 on Saturday. Live scoring will be on
Golfstat. In addition to individuals from Texas, 18 quintets will line up to tee off on Friday at 10 a.m. Eastern, from these teams:
