BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University's Erica Brok and Mackenzie Morris earned first-team All-American honors, the AVCA announced Wednesday. The seniors are FAU's first ever All-American team selections.
"Erica and Mackenzie earned this whole heartedly!" FAU coach Capri Grotowski said. "With all of the uncertainty and unfortunate circumstances this season they continued to crush it in the sand. Such an amazing pair that has represented FAU beach for four years. Can't wait to see what they accomplish together next year! Congratulations, Erica and Mack. Go Owls."
This honor is one of many Brok and Morris collected in 2021. The pair earned AVCA Top Flight status, its second ever and FAU's third, for playing at least 15 matches on Court One and winning more than 75 percent of them. Brok and Morris also earned first-team All-Conference honors.
The Brok/Morris pair went 18-5 this season to extend its program-record win total to 71. Brok and Morris also earned their 72nd and 71st career individual wins, placing them first and second all-time, respectively, in team history. Those contributions helped FAU claim its first-ever CCSA Championship.
