HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The 14
th-ranked Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team advanced to the CCSA Championship semifinals with a resounding 5-0 win over the No. 5-seeded Southern Miss Eagles. Â
Four of FAU's (18-10) five pairs claimed straight-set victories, with
Mackenzie Morris and
Erica Brok winning a three-set battle on Court One to secure the sweep. The Owls have now won two consecutive games with an impressive +8 scoring margin.Â
This will be the Owls' second-ever CCSA Championship semifinals appearance, as coach
Capri Grotowski led the squad that far in 2017.

Match One vs. Southern Miss
The Owls handled their business efficiently against the Eagles, avoiding a third set for all but one of their points.
Ellie Austin and
Kenley Adams routed Southern Miss' Court Two pair by a score of 21-9, 21-17.
Courtney Moon and
Abby Jackson posted FAU's second-most lopsided victory on Court Five, beating their opposing pair 21-10, 21-17. FAU's Court Three (
Jillienne Cangelosi/
Kaila Dorish) and Four (
Maylin Bouffard/
Savannah Pesante) pairs also added straight-set wins. Brok and Morris, the Owls' All-Conference representatives, won a tight match on Court One, 21-17, 19-21, 15-13.

The Owls will seek revenge against the No. 3-seeded FIU, which defeated them on Friday, at 10 a.m. ET on Sunday. If FAU wins that game, it will play in the CCSA Championship game - against Georgia State - for the first time ever at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
