BOCA RATON, Fla. – After an 11-month wait, Florida Atlantic University women's golf returns to tournament action on Monday. And will do so on a course the team knows well.
FAU is hosting the Paradise Invitational Feb. 8-9 at the Boca Lago Country Club. Competing teams are Arkansas State, Ohio State, Southern Miss, UAB, Loyola Chicago, Xavier, USF, Iowa, North Florida, Vanderbilt, Michigan State and Maryland. Conference USA, Big Ten, SEC, ASUN, Big East, Missouri Valley, Sun Belt and American are all represented.
"This is certainly the strongest field we have had in hosting this event," FAU coach
Aimee Neff said, "and it will be a great test to see where we stack up early in the season."Â
The teams will play 54 holes, with 36 on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. The lowest four of five scores for each round will count toward the team score. Team and individual champions will be crowned.
Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.com.
This is the Owls' first tournament since the Florida Gators Invitational in March 2020. The opportunity to return after that extended period of time is one Neff is cherishing.
"We are excited to return to tournament play since March of last year!," Neff said. "I think our team truly appreciates the opportunity to compete again and represent FAU."
