Owls Stand in Fourth at C-USA Championships

ATLANTA – The Florida Atlantic University women's swimming & diving team wrapped up the second night of the 2021 Conference USA Swimming & Diving Championships standing in fourth place (289 points). FAU earned two podium finishes after Nika Culina and Alicia Mora captured bronze medals.

Quick Hits
- The 200 medley relay team of Abby Marshall, Culina, Hailee Trotter and Mackenzie Brown tallied fourth with a time of 1:42.73
- Maggie Casey just missed the podium in the 200 free, capturing fourth with a time of 1:48.57. Hannah Garner followed in 14th (1:51.67)
- Culina earned her first podium finish in just her first collegiate meet. The freshman logged the bronze medal in the 100 breast (1:01.91). Her time also broke a 17-year FAU freshman record once held by Elle Weberg
- Trotter (1:04.95) and Victoria Ellwood (1:06.11) finished in 13th and 15th, respectively in the 100 breast
- Marshall took eighth in the 100 back (57.77), while Brown captured 14th (57.16)
- Mora made the podium again, receiving the bronze medal on the 1-meter with a score of 260.10. Selina Staudenherz (248.15) and Alexa Atherholt (222.90) finished in fifth and eighth, respectively in the A-final
- The 800 free relay team ended the night in fourth. Casey, Kirsten Hobson, Garner and Sarah Martin finished with a time of 7:27.36
