BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (6-8, 4-6 Conference USA) is ready for a challenging road series at UTEP (14-5, 11-3 C-USA) this weekend. The Owls have won three straight games and will look to lengthen that, as they face the Miners, who are on a nine-game winning streak. Tipoff for Sunday's game is set for 4 p.m. (EST), while Monday's contest is at 9 p.m. (EST).

- The Owls look to win its fourth consecutive game, after earning the series sweep over UTSA with a 72-59 win on Friday and 79-50 feat on Saturday
- FAU will face a tough test, as the team travels to El Paso to face UTEP for a two-game C-USA series with the first being played on Friday at 9 p.m. and the second on Saturday at 4 p.m. (both games are EST)
- The Owls have commenced C-USA play with a 4-6 record, and will try to stay in the winning column as the race for a spot to the C-USA Tournament tightens
- Head coach Jabir is in his fourth season at the helm with his 2020-21 team being made up of one redshirt freshman, six sophomores, six juniors, one senior and one graduate student
- Iggy Allen leads the team with 21.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game. Alexa Zaph has a team's most 2.8 assists per game. Janeta Rozentale averages 8.6 rebounds per game, while leading the Owls with 1.5 blocks per game

- FAU trails UTEP in the all-time series, 8-3, and will play the Miners for the 12th and 13th time of the series
- The Owls took down the Miners in the first two meetings of the series with back-to-back wins in 2014 at home (98-62) and 2015 on the road (68-63)
- FAU has lost four in a row to UTEP, including twice in 2020
- In the last meeting, the Owls lost to the Miners in the opening round of the C-USA Tournament last season, 95-67. Juliette Gauthier tallied 10 points and five boards, while Astou Gaye logged nine points and a team-high seven rebounds
- FAU is 2-3 at home, 1-4 on the road and 0-1 on a neutral site vs. UTEP

- The Miners' only losses come on the road against league-leading Rice (74-68 and 55-43) and vs. North Texas (67-59)
- UTEP was projected to finish the conference in sixth, while Katia Gallegos was chosen to the nine-person C-USA Preseason Team
- Gallegos is continuing to dominate in her second collegiate season, logging a team-high 14.6 points per game, 91 assists and 32 steals
- Michelle Pruitt leads the team with 9.1 rebounds per game
- UTEP leads the conference in rebounding defense, holding teams to just 33.3 boards per game

- Allen led all scorers for the second straight game, logging 26 points, 12 rebounds and three assists
- Rozentale tallied 15 points, five boards and two blocks
- Allie Tylka played a great game on both sides of the court, tallying 14 points, eight rebounds, three steals and four assists
- Sofia Galeron was the fourth Owl in double digits, putting up 10 points
- The Owls saw 4+ players in double digits for the sixth game this season
- FAU shot over 50 percent (56.1%) for the first time this season, while holding UTSA to 25.5% from the field
