LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (8-6-2, 2-4-2 in Conference USA) dropped its final regular season contest to No. 12 Kentucky (11-1-4, 3-1-4 C-USA), 3-0 on Friday night. Despite the loss, the Owls qualified for the 2021 C-USA Men's Soccer Championships taking place next week. The full bracket for the tournament will be released on Sunday.

First Half
In the first shot of the game for either teams, Kentucky found the back of the net off a corner to take an early 1-0 lead at the ninth minute. About seven minutes later, UK tacked onto its lead after delivering a strike from outside of the box to get beat the backline.
Neil Strauber got a touch on the ball, but the ball just slid past him and UK led 2-0. For the remaining 29 minutes in the half, Strauber picked up three big saves to hold UK off. FAU went into the half down, 3-0.Â

Second Half
Blake Dean took the Owls first shot of the game at the 58th minute, but it was missed right. At the 65th minute, UK made some noise, as the first shot was saved by Strauber, but their third shot found the back of the net to lead the Owls, 3-0.
Jose Alastuey tallied two shots in the final 10 minutes, but the Owls couldn't connect.

The C-USA Tournament bracket will be released on Sunday, which will determine who FAU plays next. Charlotte will be hosting the championships from Nov. 10-14.
