BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's cross country teams are set for Saturday's 2021 Conference USA Cross Country Championships at Frank Liske Park in Concord, North Carolina. The men's 8K commences at 10 a.m. and the women follow with the 6K. Awards will follow at the conclusion of both races.

Women
- The women's team finished 21st out of 29 teams at the Florida State Pre-Nationals
- Madlen Kappeler led the women's side in 71st place (22:32.7) in a field of 277
- The next two Owl women to finish were Jordan Stevens (24:10.4) in 185th, Morgan Sharp (24:20.4) in 188th and Paige Saiz (24:21.4) in 189th
Men
- The men's team finished in 29th out of 31 teams at the Pre-Nationals
- Preston Dunn was fastest, finishing 151st out of 256 runners with a season-best time of 26:44.0
- Jericho Cooey (28:50.2) and Rory Carmody (29:54.3) followed in 229th and 240th, respectively

Women
- Last season at the C-USA Cross Country Championships, the women finished in sixth place (169 points), just two points behind the fifth-place finisher
- Kappeler led the way with an 11th-place finish in the 6K (21:52.07) to capture All-C-USA Second Team honors
- Saiz and Analise Davis came up with great races, tallying 42nd (23:20.00) and 44th (23:26.54), respectively

- The men's team finished in 11th with 298 points
- Dunn led the way with 45th place and a time of 26:37.66
- Cooey finished 69th (28:46.63)

The student-athletes who qualify will compete at the NCAA South Regionals on Friday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. in Huntsville, Alabama.
