DELAND, Fla. – Completing their second road trip of the week, the Florida Atlantic University volleyball team (0-2) fell to Stetson (1-0) in four sets, 25-20, 16-25, 25-19, 25-20, on Sunday.

FAU entered the 2021 campaign as a young team but is a team gaining more and more experience as they prepare to open Conference USA play. On Sunday, the Owls tallied more kills than Stetson (47-44) and were neck and neck in most other areas, but ultimately saw the homestanding Hatters pull away with the 3-1 win.

Nelson's Nuggets

"Our girls played with a lot of heart today," said Fernanda Nelson, FAU's head coach. "We have been challenged with different situations thus far but our connection and communication has improved. I am content with how this young team played. But we have work to do."

Statistically

Scherine Dahoue led FAU's offensive efforts with 21 kills while Camryn Vogler added 14
Defensively, MiaBella English guided the attack with 38 assists
Aniya Harvey recorded five blocks and Raine Lynch had 17 digs
Two aces were recorded by Vogler, Englis and Pedrick Heather

Next Up

The Owls will next travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky, where FAU will open the 2021 spring Conference USA season versus the WKU Hilltoppers. The two teams will square off on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 7-8. Both matches scheduled for 1 p.m.
