ATLANTA – The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team has had two former student-athletes earn nods to the Atlantic Sun Conference 2001-10 All-Decade Team, as announced by the league on Monday. Alena Dvorakova and Kristen Jordan were two of the 21 players selected to the team.
Alena Dvorakova
Dvorakova made a significant impact on the courts for the Owls from 2001-05. A two-time ASUN Player of the Year, Dvorakova took home the honor during the 2003 and 2005 seasons, which corresponded with the Owls' two ASUN Championships. Dvorakova was a four-time All-Conference First Team choice, the only player in program history to become a four-time honoree. The Prague, Czech Republic native also won ASUN Player of the Week four times during her four-year Owl career.
Kristen Jordan
Jordan was a two-year player for the Owls from 1999-01. She was a back-to-back ASUN Player of the Year honors in 2000 and 2001 and earned a spot on the All-Conference Team both of those seasons. Jordan was also the first FAU student-athlete to be named as the conference's top player.
All-Decade Team honorees must have competed at least two years in the decade as an ASUN student-athlete. Individuals who earned one of the following criteria were named to the team: three First Team All-Conference selections (Singles), four All-Conference selections (Singles) or multiple Player of the Year accolades. Former student-athletes that attained at least two of the following criteria were chosen to the team: Player/Freshman of the Year or three All-Conference selections (Singles).
