BOCA RATON, Fla. – Riley Olson has signed her National Letter of Intent with Florida Atlantic University and will be joining the 2020-21 softball team in the fall, announced head coach
Joan Joyce.Â
Olson begins her collegiate career at FAU after graduating from Legacy High School. The versatile player received numerous awards during her high school career including being named to the All-Conference team in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. She was also named to the All-Region team in 2017-2018. As a varsity player, Olson batted .429 in 266 at-bats, with 40 stolen bases, and a .968 fielding percentage while playing for the Lightning.Â
Outside of softball, the Westminster, Colorado native excells in the classroom earning a spot on the All-Academic first team from 2017-2020, and was a member of the National Honor Society for two years. Olson finished out her high school career as the senior class Vice President.Â
"I chose FAU because when I visited the campus and field it felt like home," said Olson. "I knew this was where I wanted to spend my next four years."Â

"Riley is a versatile player, she plays outfield and also first base and is our first ever player from Colorado. She is a lefty hitter/slapper and will bring great depth to our team."Â
Olson will be joining seven recruits from the state of Florida, and one from Delaware, in the incoming class: Reagan Conley, Kaitlyn Cunningham, Jalynn Ford, Zoey Jones, Holley Peluse, Cammeo Presutti, Breanna Robine, and Dontaysha Gobourne.Â
