BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University head men's basketball coach Dusty May has signed Alijah Martin to a National Letter of Intent.
"We are extremely excited to add Alijah Martin to our recruiting class," said May. "He is a playmaking wing who brings athleticism and a complete skillset that will allow him to fit in perfectly with the pieces that already in place."
Martin attends North Pike High School in Summit, Mississippi where he averaged 25 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals as a senior. He scored 45 points in NPHS' regional final, earned First Team All-State recognition, and was named MVP of the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Game.
A two-sport athlete, the 6-foot-4 Martin was also a First Team All-State quarterback for the Jaguar football team, passing for more than 2,100 yards and 20 touchdowns, while adding 1,300 yards and 13 touchdowns rushing.
Martin will join a signing class that already is comprised of Nicholas Boyd, who averaged 15 points and six rebounds at Don Bosco Institute; Sun-Sentinel 6A-7A Player of the Year Giancarlo Rosado, who averaged 26.7 points and nine rebounds per game at Palm Beach Lakes High School; and Johnell "Nelly" Davis, who was named to the Indiana state All-Star team after averaging 31.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.6 steals and 2.6 assists at 21st Century School.
