BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University's women's tennis team (5-2) returned home to see the reigning Conference USA Player of the Week,
Natalie Kallmunzerova, lead the Owls to a 4-0 win over C-USA foe Charlotte (10-5).
Head Coach Caroline Wheelen
"This match was the first of two weeks of constant matches," said head coach
Caroline Wheelen. "Charlotte is a tough C-USA team. The past five months of preparation and attention to small details showed today. There were some changes in the lineup, which were handled well, and freshman Radka (Buzkova) recorded her first win at position one and
Karin Kozlejova had her first win at position two doubles. Overall, we played as a real detail-oriented team fighting for every single ball."
- The Owls came from behind on doubles courts one and two for the matches' first point
- Kallmunzerova made easy work of her opponent on court four with a 6-0, 6-2 win and the first singles point of the match to put the Owls up 2-0. The win moved the C-USA player of the week to 6-0 on the year in dual matches
- With battles brewing on the remaining five courts, especially on courts five and six potentially needing a third set to decide, both positions one and two came from behind to take their matches. Buzkova won on court one 6-4, 6-4, and Martina Kudelova took court two, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2
