Kallmunzerova, Ingram Tabbed FAU Players of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University athletic department has named Natalie Kallmunzerova of women's tennis Jailyn Ingram from men's basketball as student-athletes of the week.
Kallmunzerova was an everyday match starter in 2019, but her matches were made of long rallies often going unfinished. The junior's offseason work consisted of expanding her game in an effort to close out points quicker. In the Owls' 2020 opening match, Kallmunzerova's hard work paid off, as both her single and double matches counted and she was the first to close out her singles match against Florida Gulf Coast. Kallmunzerova won her singles match (6-4, 6-2) and teamed up with Martina Kudelova in doubles to win, 6-2. The Owls took down FGCU, 7-0.
Ingram continued his strong play against conference opponents with impressive performances this past week. The junior had the go-ahead putback basket late as part of a 16-point, six rebound effort in a 69-65 win over then-second place WKU on Thursday. He followed that up with 16 points and a career-matching 12 rebounds in a 91-73 feat over Marshall on Saturday. This marked his first double-double since December 2018.
Women's tennis will face Florida A&M on Friday at 11 a.m. at the FAU Tennis Complex. And will close out the weekend on Sunday with a 10 a.m. match against Liberty.
It is rivalry week for men's basketball, as the Owls face FIU tomorrow at 7 p.m. in Miami. The Owls will take on FIU once again on Saturday at RoofClaim.com Arena. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
