Women’s Tennis Remains Undefeated at Home

BOCA RATON, Fla. – On a day that we celebrate leap year, the Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team (4-1) took a giant leap toward remaining undefeated at home and proving the team's merits toward their goal of being nationally ranked with a 7-0 victory over Oakland University (4-4).
The Owls swept the doubles competition with wins on courts one through three to earn the match's first point. Courts 2, 4 and 5 were decided within minutes of each other to secure the match for the Owls at 4-0. The remaining three courts played to a conclusion with the Owls being victorious on each court.
"The girls had a great match today," said head coach Caroline Wheelen. "Karin (Kozlejova) had her first college wins in both doubles and singles. It was exciting to watch her enjoy that moment Now, off to Jacksonville for a tough match."

FAU will travel to Jacksonville on Monday where the Owls will play the UNF Osprey at 10 a.m. and will then return home to face Conference USA opponent Charlotte on Thursday, March 5 at 11:30 a.m. All home matches, held at the FAU Tennis Complex, are free and open to the public. - Freshman Radka Buzkova was the first to record a singles' point with a straight-set shutout 6-0 6-0
- May Kimhi and Louie McLelland came off minutes apart with points three and four to secure the match
- Freshman Karin Kozlejova battled back in the second set and won the tiebreaker 7-4 to win her first dual season match 6-3, 7-6 (7-4)
