BOCA RATON, Fla. – Another signee for 2021 has signed on the dotted line for Florida Atlantic University women's soccer, as the program announces on Thursday its second addition, Kaylin Johnston.
Johnston will make her way to Boca Raton from the Garden State, playing currently for Holy Cross Prep in Delran, New Jersey. She earned First Team Burlington County Scholastic League honors in 2019 while being part of the BCSL Patriot Division champions. The 5-9 forward/defender also suits up for one of the best club programs in the state in PDA Ajax, winners of the New Jersey Cup last season.
Why Johnston chose FAU:
"Playing college soccer for team that is competitive and strives to win, not only athletically but academically, has always been a dream of mine," said Johnston. "After taking one trip down to FAU, I knew I could make that dream come true. From the vibrant atmosphere to the welcoming staff, everything seemed to fit into place. I can't wait for what is to come in the next four years!"
Baker on Johnston:
"The first time I saw Kaylin play was against my club at the Jefferson Cup a few years ago and left the game with a very positive first impression of her and her PDA team," said head coach
Patrick Baker. "She is a very dangerous attacking player, both with and without the ball. Kaylin's runs are well timed and dynamic; she can put a lot of pressure on defenders and back lines as a whole. Kaylin shows a commitment to defend and attack and understands the importance of playing both sides of the ball. She plays with a real positive energy and I look forward to having her here in Boca Raton next year."
Johnston becomes the second signing for the 2021 season, following fellow freshman
