Women’s Basketball Signs Henshaw

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's basketball head coach Jim Jabir has announced the signing of Simona Henshaw on Tuesday. Henshaw will be eligible for the 2021-22 season.
The London product has enjoyed a great deal of success on the court. Henshaw is a U-18 National Champion and MVP, as well as two-time U-16 National Champion. The guard was recently selected as a player for the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic 2020 U-19 game despite the event being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Simona is a strong, physical athlete with a competitiveness that will serve her well, as we continue to recruit strong, offensive-minded players," said Jabir.
Henshaw, who comes out of the City of London Academy CoLA), was recognized by the Women's Elite Academy Basketball League (WEABL) as the Southern Conference's Most Improved Player. In 2020, Henshaw led CoLA to a 7-3 record to earn the No. 3 seed in the south. She tallied the third best conversion rate from beyond the arc (38.1 percent), while averaging 11.4 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game.
