BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (9-11, 3-6 C-USA) will look to bounce back, as they travel to Marshall (7-12, 2-6 C-USA) for the 10th game of the series on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Cam Henderson Center.
- The Owls will look to bounce back from a 68-59 loss at Western Kentucky. FAU is searching for its first road win since Jan. 2 at UTSA
- The program holds the lead in the series, 5-4, while winning four out of the last six meetings
- Crystal Primm is the leader in points and rebounds on the team, averaging 15.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Lotta Vehka-Aho follows with 12.2 points per game and leads the team in assists (55) and steals (35). Juliette Gauthier is the third Owl averaging double digits with 11.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game
- Head coach Jim Jabir is one win away from the 500th of his career
- The Owls dropped Thursday's tilt against the Lady Toppers, 68-59
- FAU outscored WKU 20-9 in the fourth quarter, but the Owls could not fully recover from a rough third quarter, in which the Lady Toppers shot 76.92 percent from the field and put up 26 points versus the Owls' 13
- Vehka-Aho was the Owls' leading scorer with 18 points
- Gauthier followed with 11 points and five rebounds
- Primm, Astou Gaye and Alexa Zaph each logged eight points, while Primm led the Owls with six rebounds
- Glenisha Harkless matched a career-high six assists and two blocks
- The Owls held the Lady Toppers to a 13.6 three-point shooting percentage, as WKU shot 3-22 from beyond the arc
- Marshall was picked to finish 11th in the C-USA Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches
- The Herd are led by freshman Savannah Wheeler, who is averaging 13.0 points per game and has tallied a team-leading 49 assists and 24 steals
- The Thundering Herd's leading rebounder is Taylor Pearson, who averages 5.9 boards per game along with 9.7 points per game
- Senior Ashley Sainigene has tallied 45 blocks on the season and is second in C-USA with 2.8 swats per game
- The 10th meeting between the two teams will take place Saturday afternoon
- FAU has won four out of the last six meetings, while holding a slight 5-4 advantage over the Thundering Herd
- In last season's meeting, the Owls fell just short of the Thundering Herd, 72-67 in Boca Raton. Gauthier put up 14 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Harkless captured nine points and four boards, while Amber Gaston logged eight points
