Kame, Mykhailenko Selected as FAU Players of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University athletic department has named Sigourney Kame from volleyball and Ivan Mykhailenko from men's soccer as student-athletes of the week.
Kame helped the Owls extend the nation's second longest home winning streak to 21 with a four-set win over rival FIU. The senior outside hitter racked up 16 kills and three blocks in the victory, passing Lori Lombard to be seventh in school history with 1,087 career kills. The Owls now sit at 1-0 in conference play.
Mykhailenko continues to be a dominant force for the Owls after tallying five points in FAU's 3-1 victory over Florida Gulf Coast Wednesday night. The junior scored two goals and added an assist with his five points accounting for the most scored by an Owl since 2014. The Kyiv, Ukraine native has scored or assisted in all but one goal this season, bringing his point total to 10 on the season.
Volleyball will hit the road to face Louisiana Tech on Friday at 8 p.m. The Owls will look to extend their home winning streak to 22 when they return to The Burrow to face WKU on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
Men's soccer will head to Orlando, Florida to face No. 12 UCF tomorrow at 6 p.m. Live video is available here, while stats can be kept up with here.
