Women’s Basketball Hosts First Official Practice of 2019-20 Season

Owls will feature 11 newcomers including Auburn graduate transfer, Crystal Primm
BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team took to Abessinio Court at FAU Arena for the first time officially on Thursday morning, kicking off preparations for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
The Owls practiced for about 2 hours running through drills. FAU will feature 11 newcomers when they take the court this season led by Auburn graduate transfer Crystal Primm. Primm comes to FAU after averaging 10.4 points in the always tough SEC. Joining Primm is freshman Lotta Vehka-aho. Vehka-aho, a native of Finland, earned MVP honors at the U20 FIBA European Championship after averaging 18.5 points and 3.5 assists per game this summers.
There will be plenty of new faces, including a new assistant coach Otavio Battaglia, who joined the team during the spring, but lots of returners as well. Sophomore Juliette Gauthier, was the No. 2 freshman scorer in C-USA last season averaging 11.2 ppg while classmate Amber Gaston shot 51 percent from the field for the season, the best average by a Conference USA freshman and the seventh best clip overall in the league
