Monteiro, Antoine Awarded FAU Players of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University athletic department has recognized Jessica Monteiro from women's soccer and Deangelo Antoine from football as student-athletes of the week.
Monteiro's first goal of the 2019 season proved to be the first game-winner of her career in Sunday night's late 1-0 win over Creighton. The senior midfielder's header came off a corner kick in the 82nd minute to push the Owls past the Bluejays, who came into the match with a 6-2 record. FAU has won five matches in a row, all at home, and their last three games have come in shutout fashion to start the season with a 7-2 record.
Antoine became the Owls' first wide receiver to capture Conference USA Player of the Week honors after catching for a school-record four touchdowns in the Owls' 42-7 win over Wagner on Saturday night. The graduate transfer became the eighth player in Conference USA's 25-year history to catch at least four TD passes in a game and the first since 2016. Antoine finished with 11 receptions for 173 yards on the night.
Women's soccer will go on the road to take Oral Roberts on Thursday at 8 p.m. The Owls will be back at FAU Soccer Stadium on Friday, Oct. 11 in their matchup against UTSA at 7:30 p.m.
Football will be on the road to face Charlotte on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. with the game being broadcast on NFL Network.
