GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University men's and women's cross country were back in action Saturday morning at the 2019 Mountain Dew Gator Invitational hosted by Florida. The women's team finished sixth place with 35 other teams present on the course. 
Madlen Kappeler picked up where she left off from the FAU Invitational, capturing fourth place in the 5K with a time of 18:12.71.
 
	- The women's team captured sixth place with 224 points. This is a huge improvement from last season when the team came in 12th
- Kappeler was the top finisher for the Owls in the 5K out of 306 runners, with her time moving her up in the FAU ranks. Her finish of 18:12.00 is the eighth fastest time in school history
- Megan Giovanniello was the next finisher for the Owls, crossing the finish line in 19:20.29 for 38th place
- Alexis Hill (19:47.82), Nina Endt (19:52.54) and Morgan Sharp (19:59.85) captured new FAU personal records
	- The men's team finished 19th out of 31 teams, tallying 518 points
- Sean Barone was the top finisher on the men's side, claiming 87th place (27:55.94)
- Cristian Moreno (28:15.45) and Preston Dunn (28:17.77) finished in 102nd and 106th, respectively
