Baseball’s Hartigan Chosen as Freshman All-American

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University outfielder Mitchell Hartigan was named as part of the Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-American Team, as released by the publication on Wednesday.
The Jupiter native, in 47 games (with 44 starts), tied for second on the Owls this season with a .322 batting average and with 14 doubles, to go along with six home runs and 33 RBI. He was also third on the team in slugging (.514) and fifth in on-base percentage (.404).
Hartigan becomes the third such national first-year honoree in FAU history by Collegiate Baseball, after Mickey Storey in 2005 and Stephen Kerr in 2014. He joins Old Dominion's Andy Garriolla as the only other Conference USA representative this year.
