DALLAS – Florida Atlantic University softball player
Jolie Duffner clinched a spot on the 2019 Conference USA All-Academic Team, as announced by the league on Monday. This marks the third consecutive year an Owl softball player has been recognized with this honor. Duffner was one of 11 in the league chosen for this award.

A health science major with the aspiration of going to medical school, Duffner is a recipient of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic medal and is a member of the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll. Duffner is a two-time Dean's List honoree and received a 4.0 with President's List honors her first season on the team in 2018 as a sophomore transfer. The Jefferson City, Missouri native has maintained a cumulative 3.989 GPA even with a challenging course load and busy schedule.

Duffner also greatly excels on the field as the Owls' everyday third baseman. The redshirt junior started in each of the Owls' 50 games this season with a .259 batting average, 14 RBI, 11 runs scored and two doubles and triples a piece. Duffner finished the season 10th in the league in assists with 95.

The Owls will be back in 2020 to celebrate the 26th season of the program under direction of head coach
