EMERSON, Ga. - The Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team defeated UNC-Wilmington before losing to Georgia State in the quarterfinals of the CCSA Tournament on Saturday.

Match 1 vs. UNC-Wilmington
Jillenne Cangelosi and Kaila Dorish swept on court five, 21-13, 21-14. Savannah Pesante and Sam Gott won the first set at no. 4, before losing the second. They rallied to take the third set 15-12. On court three, Nicole Navarro and Megan McGrath had a 21-13, 21-14 victory. Mackenzie Morris and Erica Brok posted a 21-18, 21-15 straight set win on court two. Amanda Silva and Nicole Grant came up short in both sets at no. 1, 21-19, 21-16.

Match 2 vs. Georgia State
Navarro and McGrath lost in straight sets at no. 3, but Dorish and Cangelosi swept on court five to quickly even the score. On court four, Pesante and Gott rallied to force a third set, but came up just short, losing 15-10. Brok and Morris had to win extra points in both the first and third sets to once again tie the match. That brought everything down to court one, where the Panthers eked out a narrow 18-16 victory to advance to the semifinals.
