The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team waited out a two and a half hour rain delay to play host to VCU, but could not come away with the win falling 4-0.

Sandwiched between the rain delay and a second match scheduled to follow the FAU versus VCU match the head coaches elected to start with singles play and then move to doubles, if needed.

Cava's Chatter

"Starting with singles requires everyone to show up mentally and our team did not do that today," said Cava. "VCU showed up to battle both mentally and physically and they deserved this win. I'm realistic and know that we aren't going to win every match, but what I cannot accept or make excuses for is not making intelligent choices when they are in our control. I hope we learn from these mistakes and wake up tomorrow mentally stronger than we were today."

Sunday's tennis match will featured the men's team versus VCU at 10 a.m. On Monday, March 11, the women's tennis team will return to the court to play host to Syracuse at 8:30 a.m. A men's match will follow featuring FAU and UNC Asheville and the FAU women will retake the court versus Boston University at 2:30 p.m. FAU women then will play host to Liberty at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12.
