A Monday split was the order of the day for the Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team who dropped the first match of the day, 4-1, to No. 29 Syracuse. The afternoon match saw the Owls take a 4-0 victory from Boston University.
The Owls move to 5-6 on the year with three of the six losses coming at the hands of top-30 ranked teams.
"Martina beat an outstanding player on Syracuse's women's team," said Marcy Cava, FAU's head women's tennis coach. "Martina has been working really hard this semester and it showed today. In the second match, FAU battled and didn't give away a single point against Boston University. Our fitness shined in a double header. I'm proud of how much this team has grown in just two months."
