BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team will be hosting the 10th annual FAU Spring Championship this weekend at Osprey Point Golf Course in Boca Raton. The festivities began on Thursday with the opening ceremony and play will start on Friday running through Sunday. The first group tees off at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m.

THE FIELD
FAU is hosting Bethune-Cookman, UCF, UConn, FGCU, Georgetown, George Mason, Hartford, Houston Baptist, Miami (Ohio), Murray State, Rhode Island, Southern Illinois and Xavier. Â

LAST TIME OUT
The Owls were last on the course two weeks ago at the USF Invitational. FAU ended the tournament with its best round on the final day, shooting 304.
Sully Zagerman was the top Owl on the leaderboard, tying for 17th place with a four-over par score.

TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The FAU Spring Championship has been played for 10 years now and this is the second consecutive year it will be played at Osprey Point. Previously, the event was held at the PGA National course and the Fountains Country Club.

Several former individual winners of the tournament are enjoying success as professional golfers, including Brooks Koepka (Florida State), Scott Langley (Illinois), Braden Thornberry (Mississippi), Chris DeForest (Illinois), Tomasz Anderson (Jacksonville State), and Ricardo Gouveia (UCF).
