FAU’s Martina Kudelova Earns National Ranking

The Florida Atlantic University women's team saw their 2019 regular season end on Monday with rain forcing the cancelation of Tuesday's match, but it didn't stop the celebration. Martina Kudelova became the second player in as many years to earn a spot among the nation's leaders with a No. 110 rank by the ITA.
The Czech Republic native moved into the national ranking this week after two wins over ranked opponents. Kudelova has won nine of her last 10 matches and is on a six-match win streak. She joined the team in January and has built an 11-4 record overall, including a 10-4 dual-match singles record. Collectively, she holds an 8-5 doubles mark.
Kudelova's rank wasn't the only reason for the Owls to celebrate. Wednesday morning, the Owls took the opportunity to bid farewell to senior Kristen Thoms, who played for the Owls in 2018 and 2019.
Thoms is 8-8 on the season and is 1-3 in doubles play. She has posted a 15-20 record with the Conference USA Tournament yet to play.
The Owls will next travel to Houston to participate in the 2019 Conference USA Championship Tuesday, April 16 through Saturday, April 20. Fans can also follow via Twitter at @FAUAthletics.
