BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team will be competing in one of the top tournaments in the country this week, taking on the field at the Tar Heel Classic by Suzy Whaley. The event will be played at the Teeth of the Dog course in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

COACH NEFF'S TAKE
"We are excited to compete in a top-notch tournament with a stacked field in a beautiful location. This is an awesome opportunity for our student-athletes to compete on one of the top-50 courses in the world and to see another country. At the end of the day, it is still a golf tournament and we will do our best to focus on the controllables and taking it one shot at a time until the finish. Go Owls!"
Â

Â
LAST TIME OUT
In their last time on the course, the Owls competed at the Seminole State Spring Break and earned second place with four individuals in the top-10.
Rosa Barnak led FAU with a fourth place finish overall, shooting 10-over for the tournament.
Tai Barber was right behind her in fifth place on the leaderboard, shooting 13-over.
Taylor Morgan tied for sixth place, one stroke behind.
Amanda Leslie tied for ninth, shooting 15-over.
Â
GOLF FORE AFRICA
All this season the Owls will be teaming up with Golf Fore Africa to raise money for clean water in rural Africa. The team's goal is to raise enough money to build a well for a village in Zambia, providing clean water for an entire community.
Â
One well costs $15,000 to build and brings clean water to 300 people for life. Just a $50 donation brings clean water to one person for a lifetime. To date, Golf Fore Africa has built 160 wells and FAU is looking to be the first collegiate program to raise complete funding for a well.
