Men’s Basketball Continues Bonus Play with Rematch Versus North Texas

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team will continue Conference USA Bonus Play with a rematch against North Texas on Thursday night. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. Eastern.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will be provided throughout the game. Live audio can be heard on ESPNWestPalm.com, ESPN 106.3 FM on via smartphone using the free ESPN app. In-game updates will also be available at twitter.com/FAU_Hoops.
ABOUT THE OWLS
- FAU will be looking for its third straight win over the Mean Green
- A win would give Head Coach Dusty May sole possession of first place for most wins by a first year head coach since FAU moved to the Division I level
- A victory also guarantees FAU its first winning season since 2010-11
LAST TIME OUT
- The Owls (16-12, 7-8 C-USA) lost to rival FIU 79-76 on Saturday night
- FAU outrebounded the Panthers 48-43 on the night
- Xavian Stapleton and Anthony Adger each scored 16 points for FAU, while Karlis Silins came off the bench to score 13 for the Owls
SERIES HISTORY
- Thursday's tilt with be the 18th time the Owls and Mean Green have faced off
- North Texas leads the series 12-5, but FAU has won the last two meetings
- FAU defeated North Texas (20-8, 8-7) 57-47 on Feb. 14. It was the second time in three games that the Owls held an opponent to less than 50 points
SCOUTING NORTH TEXAS
- North Texas enter Thursday night on a four-game losing streak, including a loss to the Owls.
- Injuries have greatly affected the Mean Green's depth, as four of its five starters are averaging 30 minutes a game in conference play
- Ryan Woolridge leads the team at 34.6 per game
- The Mean Green have four different players averaging double-digit points per game, led by junior guard Roosevelt Smart averages 11.7 per outing
