ABOUT THE OWLS
- FAU will be looking to bounce back after a road loss against Louisiana Tech on Thursday night
- Through 21 games, Juliette Gauthier is leading the Owls in scoring with 10.0 points per game. Myka Johnson Matthews is close behind, averaging 9.2 points. Abby Voss leads on the rebounding front, pulling down 6.1 boards per game. Glenisha Harkless has 41 assists on the season to lead the team
- The Owls took on LA Tech on Thursday night in Ruston
- FAU was defeated, 86-55, behind a strong offensive game from the Lady Techsters
- Johnson Matthews led the Owls in scoring with 14 points in the contest. Ra'Kyra Gabriel had nine rebounds and three blocks in the game
- Saturday will be the sixth meeting all-time between FAU and Southern Miss. The series dates back to 2014 when the Owls joined Conference USA
- The Lady Eagles own a 4-1 record in the series. FAU picked up its first win against Southern Miss last season in Boca Raton, 89-74
- The Lady Eagles are 4-5 in C-USA play with wins against Charlotte, WKU, Marshall and FIU and they are the winners of three-straight games heading into Saturday
- Southern Miss is led by Megan Brown and Shonte Hailes in scoring with both averaging 10 points per game
- Kelsey Jones leads on the rebounding front, averaging 5.5 per game
