BOCA RATON, Fla. – Harrison Bryant, a Florida Atlantic University senior tight end, was named on Thursday to the 2019 Conference USA Football All-Academic Team.
Bryant kicks off the "Award Season" with this honor and is the only 2019 honoree to earn a spot in both 2018 and 2019. The health administration major holds a 3.65 GPA and is on track to graduate in the Spring of 2020.
Bryant is the fourth FAU football player to earn a spot on the Conference USA All-Academic team since FAU joined the league in 2013 and the second Owl to earn a spot twice.
His inclusion marks the fifth consecutive year that an Owls has been selected to the holistic 11-member team. His spot on the team placed FAU among the 10 C-USA institutions represented in the 14-member league.
The Gary, Georgia native leads the nation's tight ends with 61 receptions and 965 yards. He has scored six times in 2019, including three times versus Southern Miss. Bryant is a John Mackey Award finalist and will led FAU into this weekend's contest as the Owls play host to UAB in the 2019 C-USA Championship game. He is a part of a 2016 class that is the first to total a four-year winning record, two C-USA East Division titles and the opportunity to capture two C-USA titles – both in Boca Raton – and the opportunity to play in two postseason bowl games. Bryant has played in 47 games in his four-year career, tallying 2,098 receiving yards, 15 TDs and averaging 44.6 yards per game.
