Jalon Earns Second CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University men's soccer goalkeeper Hagay Jalon was recognized to the College Sports Information Directors of America All-District IV First Team, as the organization announced Thursday. This marks the redshirt senior's second consecutive honor.
The All-District teams distinguish the nation's top student-athletes based on their performance on the field, but more importantly, in the classroom. As a member of the first-team, Jalon advances to the All-America ballot, with honorees being announced in early December.
Jalon graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology, while holding a 3.80 GPA. The captain has held one of the top GPAs on the team during his three years with the Owls and has accumulated a number of academic awards from Conference USA, including All-Academic Team, Commissioner's Academic medal and Honor Roll. Jalon is currently enrolled in the Master of Psychology program with the desire of becoming a sports psychologist.
The Haifa, Israel native has posted a 1.43 Goals Against Average along with 31 saves during the season. Jalon has also recorded two C-USA Defensive Player of the Week awards after shutouts against No. 15 Marshall and No. 17 James Madison. Currently, Jalon sits in fifth in school history in career blank sheets.
Jalon and the Owls have a big C-USA match tonight at 7 p.m. against Old Dominion at FAU Soccer Stadium. The seniors will be recognized prior to the match in honor of Senior Night.
