Women’s Tennis Moves into Second Weekend of Tournament Play

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's tennis will head into their second weekend of tournament play with sophomore Martina Kudelova heading to the All-American Pre-Qualifier, hosted Oct. 5-6 hosted by Tulsa University, while the remainder of the team will head to the Bedford Cup, scheduled for Oct. 4-6, hosted by Florida Gulf Coast.

Kudelova, ranked No. 51 nationally, participated in the ITA Tournament in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last month and came away with a 2-1 singles mark and remained perfect at 2-0 while teaming with freshman Radka Buzkova in doubles play. It was the first fall tournament event for both.

FAU will send eight members to Fort Myers, Florida for the Bedford Cup. The team will be a mixture of experienced and newcomers. Junior Natalia Boltinskaya will lead FAU as a three-year FAU starter, while Natalie Kallmunzerova and May Kimhi round out the experienced group. Newcomers Buzkova, Harris Caldwell, Karin Kozlejova, Louie McLelland and Lauren Randle round out the squad.

In addition to the Owls, the Bedford Cup will feature participants FIU, Stetson, UCF, Florida, North Florida and USF.
