The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team (1-2) opened the 2019 home season against the University of Miami on Friday morning. While the Owls fell 7-0, there was personal improvements on each coach court, showing the growth from last Friday to today for four of six players who stepped on campus for the first time Jan. 4.

Cava's Chatter
"They are all working on different things, some of it being fitness just getting here two weeks ago," said Head Coach Marcy Cava in reference to the jump between week one and week two. "There is a positive progression for each one of them. Today, I felt like most of them played at least their second set or their whole match without nerves. Fitness was the biggest issue. That is the one thing we can control, but I can't help the fact that they got here a week or two ago. So, I'm trying to be positive, and tomorrow we will do a beach run. I'm thinking long term. I'm thinking conference in March and by then, we will be fine."
